These two ideas below have been on my mind when thinking about this season...
1) Being thankful IN all things. No matter what, good or bad, give God thanks in the middle of all situations.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 (AMP)
18 Thank [God] in everything [no matter what the circumstances may be, be thankful and give thanks], for this is the will of God for you [who are] in Christ Jesus [the Revealer and Mediator of that will].
2) Giving to others. Whether they are "your kind of people" or not.
There are so many hurting/broken people in the world - in our communities - all around us.
What we do for these hurting/broken people, we do for God.
Matthew 25:40 (NIV)
40 “The King will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.’
That is some dadgum good writing! I've been thinking about the exact thing lately. :)
