Time well spent with a tax collector

Recently I had an odd urge to read the prodigal son story. If you have never read it, its in Luke chapter 15. When I started reading that chapter though, I could not get past the first verse. It really has nothing to do with the prodigal son story, but it was causing my mind to race.

This is the verse:
Luke 15:1 (NLT)
Tax collectors and other notorious sinners often came to listen to Jesus teach.

There is so much packed in this one little verse.
It doesn't say here that Jesus went out and found these people. They came to him. Often.
They were drawn to him.
Why? Why did these people feel drawn to go listen to Jesus speak?
I think it is because He showed them love. He reached out to them.

The next verse talks about how Jesus would eat with them. He would spend his time with these people, who were completely different then he was.
This brought a question to mind..

Do we live out a daily life of love that draws people to Jesus?
