When you think of God, what comes to mind?
Do you think of someone?
Do you think of something?
Do you remember an experience?
Do you remember a single moment?
Does it bring up peace?
Does it bring up sadness?
Does it give confusion?
Does it give strength?
I am currently reading a book by Mark Batterson titled, In A Pit With A Lion On A Snowy Day. In this book Batterson says, "how you think of God will determine who you become." I think this is deep, but very true. If you have a small view of God, you will never be able to reach the full potential he has planned for you. You won't know the strength, wisdom, and peace that he has for you.
I think so many times we think of God in a boxed up, human way.
We limit him.
We let others shape our view of him.
This is mainly our faults though. So many "Christians" have distorted the view of God. They have shown him as hateful and mean when he is loving and kind.
We need to constantly be asking ourselves this question...
How do we view God?
How big do we view God?
